This is how I too have learned that this show which I still see fandom posts for has not been made in eight years, but frankly that is how fandom was supposed to work for all shows. The rest of you need to get on their level
The entire concept of modern fandom would not exist at all if hundreds of thousands of Star Trek fans hadn’t continued obsessing about the original (three-season) series for decades after it was cancelled. Where is this idea that we need to memory hole any media older than three years coming from? Who are you people?
“Protect bad drag” is like every other “protect bad art” to me. Because if you only ever see the most polished and editorial final product, you’ll never think that you can begin making that same art. You’ll think you’ve been priced out of expressing yourself. You’ll think beauty is behind a paywall. And that is poison, 100% of the time.
Not feminist as in “women should be included in the draft” but feminist as in “being drafted is a violation of bodily autonomy for any gender”.
The draft should not exist. Drafting people into the military is a violation of human rights. You should not be able to force someone to risk their life. If you can’t find enough people who care about a conflict to keep it going then it simply shouldn’t keep going. You can’t even force someone to donate a kidney using government power, why the fuck can you force them to donate their whole body and life to a cause they don’t agree with or don’t care about?
